Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will my progress sync to other devices?

No. At its core, Pawsoku is a local single-player experience. All level progress, time records, streak, and settings are stored only on the device you're currently using — nothing is uploaded to the cloud, and there is no cross-device sync. Game progress cannot be transferred when you switch or uninstall devices. Note that consumables (such as purchased fish jerky packs) cannot be transferred or restored across devices either.

2. What is fish jerky, and how do I get it?

Fish jerky is the in-game soft currency: you earn it free by clearing new levels, completing the daily puzzle, and setting endless records. Spend it in-game on hints, revives, and charms, or use it to adopt cats in the Cat House. To stock up faster, you can voluntarily buy one of 4 fish jerky packs in the Fish Jerky Shop (one-time consumables — not subscriptions, no auto-renewal). All payments are handled by the Apple App Store — we never touch your payment information.

3. I got a new phone or reinstalled the app — will my fish jerky still be there?

Fish jerky packs are consumables: after purchase the amount is added to your device-local balance, and Apple does not support restoring consumables across devices. So the balance does not carry over after switching devices — buy only what you need.

4. How do I completely reset my progress?

From [gear icon in the top-right of the Home screen] — [Settings] — [Reset Progress], you can confirm a prompt to clear all on-device level progress, time records, streak, fish balance, and active puzzle states. You can also simply uninstall the app to remove all local data.

5. What is the daily reminder? Will it keep pushing?

The daily reminder is a fully optional local notification that gently nudges you to solve today's daily puzzle. It's scheduled locally by iOS and never passes through our servers. Permission is requested only when you turn it on in [Settings], where you can also pick the time and turn it off at any time (off means no more notifications).

6. Does the game need the internet? Is my data safe?

The core game experience is fully offline and runs in airplane mode. The only scenarios requiring a connection are buying fish jerky packs (handled by Apple) and the optional Game Center leaderboards. The app collects no personally identifying data, does not track you, and shows no ads. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. How do I change the language, or turn off music and haptics?

Under [gear icon in the top-right of the Home screen] — [Settings], you can switch the game language (English / 中文), and toggle background music, sound effects, haptic feedback, automatic X marks, and reduced motion.

8. What are the Daily puzzle and Endless mode?

Daily puzzle: one shared puzzle each day for everyone, with a streak to build.
Endless mode: freshly generated boards that climb from 5×5 all the way to 9×9. There's always a next one waiting.
